Vintage Handmade Evening Purse Brown Cut Velvet Shoulder Bag Ecru Lining Party
I made this in 1974 for a very special occasion out of the same beautiful cut velvet fabric I had used to make my dress. I never used this purse again after that one evening. It has been carefully and lovingly tucked away all these years. I'm hoping someone will now use it for their own special occasion.
In the closed position as you see in the first picture, It measures about:
7.5" x 6.25"
The flap, including the 1" ruffle is about 6"
The cord strap measures about 33 1/8" from end to end
The lining is a very high quality satin with a bit of a matte finish and a geometric same-color print
It was all made from the inside so the only stitches you see are the tiny ones in brown that you can see on the lining which is where the bag was then turned and stitched closed. You can see that in the last photo.
